Museum Beelden aan Zee / Sculptuur Instituut is now a benificiary of the Ekkart Fund, a research fund named after the former director of the RKD, the Netherlands Institute for Art History. Researcher Hanna Klarenbeek has prepared the research, which will be expanded and finished by Frédérique Brinkerink. She will make an inventory of Dutch nineteenth century sculpture, and she intends to produce the beginnings of the first systematical history of Dutch nineteenth century sculpture.
The Ekkart Fund is a a so-called "Rembrandtfonds", a sub-fund of the mother funding institution the Vereniging Rembrandt. It is a joint fund of the Vereniging Rembrandt, the Nederlandse museumvereniging and museums and private funders.
